Reconstructive Surgery - Ear Deformity Plastic Surgery provides patients with the ability to repair and correct damage suffered by diseases, injuries and even genetics. While being far from perfect, cosmetic plastic surgery allows people who were once ridiculed, to live a normal life free from embarrassment.
Many people from around the world choose plastic surgery to help restore their lives. Some are children with cleft lips and oversized ears and others are women who have lost breasts due to cancer. Others include burn victims in need of skin graphs.
One specific procedure deals with ear deformities. These are one of the most common types of reconstructive procedures. Most people never even think about the way their ears look because there is no reason to think about it. However, others are faced with common deformities of the ear including 'cup ear' (where parts of the outer ear develop irregularly) and 'lop ear' (a case where the ear grows at a right angle rather than parallel). Another deformity of the ear is called 'cauliflower ear' which is caused by inflammation and injury.
Thankfully there are so many reconstructive options to repair ear deformities these days. Most of these procedures are simple, involve little pain and can lead to a lifetime of happiness.
