How To Soothe An Ear Ache
Here are some simple and natural methods to soothe an ear ache and give you much-needed relief.
1. Warm a small amount of olive oil by pouring into an eye-drop bottle, then placing the bottle inside a bowl of warm water. After a few minutes, the oil should be at a comfortable temperature. Place 2-3 drops of warm olive oil into the ear twice daily.
2. Next, gently and loosely plug the ear with a cotton ball to keep the oil from spilling out.
3. Applying heat to the ear can help provide pain relief fast. A warm compress placed over the irritated ear can help soothe an ear ache.
4. If irritation is evident on the outer ear, carefully rub in a small amount of lavender oil. It helps provide soothing comfort. Simply apply this oil as needed.
5. Set a large bowl inside the sink and fill it with water that's almost at the boiling point. Next, add several drops of Eucalyptus essential oil, or about a teaspoon of Vick's VapoRub. Place a bath towel over your head and inhale the steam through the nostrils. Do this 3 times each day, until the pain is eliminated. This method helps to ease pressure and drain fluids from the ear.
